Commentary
Tour 5 starts with an easy ride down the south coast of New South Wales through the unique villages and towns of Bateman's Bay and Mogo. We then cross into Victoria staying on Phillip Island with an optional visit to the Fairy Penguin colony.
Then we spend two (2) days visiting Melbourne, a city of great shopping and wonderful restaurants.
Our next major city is Adelaide. This journey takes us along the Ship Wreck Coast which is the Great Ocean Road, passing the breathtaking beauty of the 12 Apostles and surrounding areas.
From Adelaide we ride through the Barossa Valley (the largest wine growing region in Australia). We now leave behind the rolling hills and enter the Outback of South Australia and New South Wales to arrive in Broken Hill. Kangaroo and Emu sightings are common on this long hot stretch of desolate highway.
Heading east we journey through the towns of Cobar and Dubbo. A morning visit to the famous Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo is a unique experience. Our travels take us to the Blue Mountains, where we stop at the magnificent 3 Sisters Lookout. The last few days of our adventure take us back to the coast and to the seaside town of Kiama.
